How do bath lifts work?
An electric bath lift is battery-powered so there is no need for a plug next to the bath. The hand controller usually contains the battery so that can be easily removed to be charged up away from the bathroom. The exception to this are inflatable bath lifts which come with a portable pump. Bath lifts are easy to control through the handset by pressing the up and down buttons. Most bath lifts also have reclining buttons for added comfort. Modern bath lifts also come equipped with a safety feature that ensures the bath lift will not lower you down if there is not enough battery capacity in the hand control to raise you back up again. To choose something suitable for yourself or your loved one, please look at a bath lifts lowest and highest lifting heights, seat width, maximum user weight, reclining capabilities, and features for making the transfer in and out of the bath easier, such as side flaps.
