The Invacare Softform Elite Pressure Mattress is a high specification replacement mattress designed to stand up to the rigours of the healthcare environment. The Invacare Softform Elite Pressure Mattress is suitable for those considered at Very High Risk of producing pressure ulcers. A cleverly designed castellated foam insert has many cells that move independently for the highest degree of comfort, whilst the channels at the base of each cell allow for air circulation minimising the build up of heat and moisture. The outer cover is a multi stretch, waterproof, polyurethane fabric with welded seams and a full length flap concealing the zip. Combined, these features help to reduce the risk of fluid ingress and therefore prolong the life of the mattress. The Invacare Softform Mattress does not require turning significantly minimising manual handling issues for the carer.

When assessing an individual for a pressure reducing mattress, it is advisable to carry out a risk assessment. The Waterlow scale for example provides a guide category of potential risk for that individual, based on the final score.
