Premium construction
The QS5 X is made from premium materials and has state of the art technology to deliver you a wheelchair that’s high-end quality - but at a more affordable price. This allows more people to access the benefits of a high-quality active wheelchair.
This wheelchair is made from 7000 series Aluminium and uses QUICKIE’s innovative ShapeLoc technology to make it lighter, stiffer, and stronger than other wheelchairs in its class.
The box-frame design with four-sided tubing minimises flex and bending of the frame, providing increased rigidity. Often, this would add more weight due to the wheelchair but thanks to QUICKIE’s innovative frame processes weight is minimised whilst maintaining that sturdiness.
With the frame locked-out, the oval-tubed 4-arm cross brace provides a high-performance ride that rivals even some rigid wheelchairs. This saves both energy and your shoulders.
Quality with reassurance
With decades of research and work in the field, Sunrise Medical have expert knowledge and understanding of these products to get the most out of them, and ensure you have the perfect wheelchair for your needs.
One of the technologies Sunrise have taken advantage of is using swaged frame connections: the metal of one part is formed to fit around another to increase stiffness and eliminate the need for other connecting parts or screws. This reduces weight, minimises wear points, and eliminates frame movement.
The QS5 X Folding Lightweight Active Wheelchair comes with a five year manufacturer’s warranty on the frame, to give you extra peace of mind.
Expert folding technology
The QS5 X’s innovative FreeFold™ technology keeps the wheels parallel to the ground when folding – avoiding the rear wheels pivoting inwards which causes them to drag and make folding more difficult. This results in a reduction in the energy needed to fold the wheelchair by over 40%.
The Fold-N-Lock technology lets you keep your chair safely folded and is activated by simply pulling the QS5 X’s seat-sling upwards. It’s so easy, you can even do it with just one hand. When you want to un-fold again, just press the release lever and push down on both sides of the frame until the seat rail smoothly locks into place.
Made to fit you
Whether you are choosing your first wheelchair or are experienced user, the QS5 X provides near limitless adaptability to accommodate your physical development. Backed by the largest selection of interchangeable parts and adjustable components in the QUICKIE range, it allows for ongoing changes, easy parts replacement, and personalisation. Made-to-measure to fit your body, plus a large range of colour options, your wheelchair is made especially for you.
This wheelchair is available with a choice of two frame versions: a fixed front for those who need additional support and stability; and a swing-away frame with footrests and footplates that can be swung to the sides for easier transfers.
