In 2018, Lynnette Thomas’ world was turned upside down when she experienced a stroke aged just 27.
With 2 small daughters to take care of, it’s little wonder why Lynnette was left devastated by the knowledge that she could no longer use her left arm and, now, only has limited use of her left leg.
“I was, and still am, devastated. I have 2 children which makes life harder. My eldest daughter also has additional needs, but has had to become a young carer and help us around the house. She now puts up her younger sister’s hair to help us.”
The lasting effects of the stroke have left Lynnette unable to cut up her food or prepare the meals she enjoyed most. Bathing and showering have also become much more difficult, which is what prompted Lynnette to look for equipment online and visit the Complete Care Shop website.
“I found several aids by browsing your website and reading that those particular items would be helpful for my circumstances. I can now help prepare the healthy meals I like to eat using the grater/peeler aid and, since I can’t use a knife, I bought a plate guard which enables me to scoop my food on to my fork.”
Lynnette also told us that she can now enjoy bathing again, thanks to her bath lift which lowers her into and raises her from the bath tub at the touch of a button, giving her the opportunity to soak and relax. And when it comes to showering, Lynette uses a bath board to ensure she stay comfortable and safe whilst washing.
“I highly recommend Complete Care Shop. I always look here first when I feel I need an aid that could promote independence. They are fairly priced, and delivery times are good.”
Thank you so much for your kind words Lynnette and we are thrilled to hear how much of a difference this equipment has made to your everyday activities. We hope making others aware of your challenges and, more importantly, how you’ve overcome them, will inspire our readers and help highlight the ways they can live more independently.
